Tour Overview
Join us for the vacation of a lifetime as we tour the Baja California
Peninsula by motorcycle. Our highway tours are great for individuals,
couples and groups looking for something different in a tour
experience. The Baja Peninsula is the longest land arm of its type in
the world and Mexico's last frontier. It is all but forgotten in its
isolation from mainland industry and politics. Start your journey from
San Diego and ride south to Los Cabos. You'll get to see the entire
peninsula— over 1,100 miles — in just eight days!
The diverse and varied landscapes of Baja California are beautiful
and breathtaking, and make for interesting sights along the way. You
will find excellent cuisine and accommodations. There are many
interesting stops throughout our journey from the towering cardon
cactus deserts and unique cirio valleys of the northern peninsula to
the 17th-Century Jesuit missions and Caribbean-like white sand beaches
and crystal clear waters of the Gulf of California. Every day brings
new views of the Pacific or the Gulf of California. You can't beat the
night life in Ensenada or Cabo San Lucas!
|
There is no better way to experience Baja
than on a BMW motorcycle! This dual-sport "Cadillac" features superb
handling, comfortable seating, and safety features including ABS brakes
that place it in a class all its own. There is very little that Baja
can dish-up that these motorcycles can't handle.
Our bilingual tour guide is an experienced on-road and off-road
motorcyclist and has years of experience racing, touring and exploring
Baja California. We take all of the planning and hassle out of your
trip and allow you to experience Baja to the fullest in a single
9-day/8-night package. Join one of our scheduled tours or bring a group
and we can custom tailor a package just for you.

Sample Tour Itinerary
Day 1, Saturday
Participants arrive in San Diego. Welcome meeting at 6:00 p.m., with dinner immediately afterward.
Day 2, Sunday — San Diego to Ensenada
Breakfast and motorcycle orientation in San Diego. We hit the road on a
morning ride to the U.S./Mexico border and south along the Pacific
Coast highway to downtown Ensenada for shopping and sightseeing. Here
we have our first group lunch at one of our favorite seafood
restaurants.
Day 3, Monday — Ensenada to Catavina
Full day of riding. It's a mixed bag of curves and straightaway
sections as we pass by many small towns and villages on our journey
south. You already understand why we chose BMW bikes! There are many
beautiful views of the Pacific and the air is crisp and clear. We soon
enter the domain of the world's largest cactus, the cardon cactus, and
see the strange spiny rat tails of the cirios and later, the Catavina
boulder fields. This part of the peninsula is one of the most isolated
areas and a very unique experience.
Day 4, Tuesday — Catavina to San Ignacio
We experience ancient Indian cave paintings on a short hike hosted
by a local guide. To the west are more tranquil views of the Pacific.
We cross into the land of adventure and legends, Baja California Sur,
where we find well preserved 17th-Century Jesuit missions and huge
stands of date palms, blue palms, and colorful bougainvillea clinging
to rock walls and fences. Watch those vados!
Day 5, Wednesday — San Ignacio to Loreto
This day features the second shortest ride of our journey. We may
visit the nearby San Ignacio mission and plaza or go for a morning of
close-up whale watching (seasonal). Boy, are those whales big! We then
head across the peninsula to the Gulf of California where we can ride
right down to some incredible white sand beaches with indigo blue
waters and palm covered huts. You think you are in the Caribbean or on
some tropical island! This is a great place for a little rest and
relaxation and maybe a swim before we continue our journey to the city
of Loreto, the first capital of the Californias.
Day 6, Thursday — Rest Day in Loreto
The culturally rich city of Loreto may include a tour of the Loreto
mission and mission museum. Other options include sport fishing, a trip
to Loreto Bay, or just hanging out around the pool.
Day 7, Friday — Loreto to La Paz
Today's ride will take us to the capital of Baja California Sur, La
Paz, a city influenced by a history of conquerors, pirates and
missionaries. We arrive with plenty of time to roam the newly
rejeuvenated La Paz waterfront, do some shopping and later dine at one
of the many fine restaurants located along the boardwalk as you enjoy
an incredibly romantic sunset.
Day 8, Saturday — La Paz to San Jose del Cabo
We reluctantly leave La Paz behind and head over to the Pacific
coast once again with a stop in the town of Todos Santos and a visit to
the famous Hotel California. Finally you understand all of the verses
of that old Eagles' song! We cross the Tropic of Cancer and a short
while later we arrive in Los Cabos with the afternoon free for
independent exploration and plenty of time left to hit the Cabo San
Lucas strip on a Friday night! Now you can try out all of that tequila
you were hankering for!
Day 9, Sunday — Leave for home
It's a short 15-minute ride from your hotel to San Jose del Cabo
International Airport to catch your flight home. How did the time go by
so fast!
